This year, July 14th had a new meaning for me. On one hand I celebrated Bastille Day as a newly naturalized French citizen and on the other hand was deeply saddened and once again, moved by the atrocity of what happened at Nice that night.
I don’t wish to use this space to discuss my political views on delicate subjects, but I just want to express my sympathy and send love & kindness to the victims and their families and pray for those desperate souls who seek to hurt, murder and create chaos.
Despite the safety concerns, the multitude of threats, racism and religious differences, France remains beautiful, rich and magnificent.
Below are a few images I caught on July 14th, in Biarritz. I invite you to take a virtual tour with the hope that each snapshot will convey this exquisite, remarkable and distinctive place in France.
